Smart AI Trade Guide publishes practical information about AI tools, business software and automation for trades and service businesses. This policy explains how we choose topics, research and write articles, use AI, keep content accurate and handle corrections.
Who writes our content
Articles are written and edited by the Smart AI Trade Guide team, led by Owais, who has a background in WordPress and website development for small businesses. Each article shows its author, and the author is responsible for checking it before it is published.
How we choose topics
We focus on questions that owners and managers of trades businesses actually ask — such as plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, landscapers, cleaning businesses and contractors. We prioritise topics that help readers:
- answer customer calls and enquiries more reliably;
- create quotes, estimates and invoices faster;
- schedule and manage jobs;
- follow up with leads and customers;
- improve their website, reviews and local visibility;
- choose software that fits their size and budget.
How we research articles
Depending on the topic, our research may include:
- official product documentation, help centres and pricing pages;
- product demonstrations, free trials and publicly available walkthroughs;
- hands-on use of a tool, where we have actually used it;
- our own experience building websites and workflows for small businesses;
- other reputable, publicly available sources.
Hands-on testing vs research
Some articles are based on direct experience with a product; others are based on research. We do not claim to have personally tested a product when we have not. Where it matters to the reader, we say which approach an article is based on. Our How We Review Tools page explains our review criteria in more detail.
How we use AI
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlining, summarising documentation and editing. We do not publish AI-generated text without human review. Before an article is published, a person:
- checks facts, features and prices against their original sources;
- adds practical examples, context and limitations;
- removes anything inaccurate, vague or unhelpful;
- edits the article so it is clear and useful for trades businesses.
We do not mass-produce pages to target search terms. Every article should give readers a genuine reason to read it.
Accuracy and updates
Software features and prices change often. We aim to review important articles regularly and update them when products change. Where pricing is mentioned, readers should confirm current prices on the provider’s website before making a decision.
